Additional information

Density determinations for a number of refined other lubricant base oils ranged from 0.81 to 0.97 g/cm3 at 15°C using EN ISO 21285/ASTM D4052 (CONCAWE, 2010a). An additional range of 0.857 to 0.950 g/cm3 was obtained following ASTM D4052 (CONCAWE, 1997). As a result, these substances are expected to float if released to water.

The studies below were conducted using International Organization for Standardization (ISO) method ISO 12185

Solvent-dewaxed, light paraffinic (64742-56-9): 0.85 g/cm3

Solvent-dewaxed, heavy paraffinic (64742-65-0): 0.86 g/cm3

Hydrotreated, light paraffinic (64742-55-8): 0.86 g/cm3

Hydrotreated, heavy paraffinic (64742-54-7): 0.88 g/cm3

Hydrotreated, light naphthenic (64742-53-6): 0.87 g/cm3

Hydrotreated, heavy naphthenic (64742-52-5): 0.91g/cm3
