Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Studies on the terrestrial toxicity of Reaction mass of 2-(3,4-dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)succinic acid and 2-(4,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)succinic acid are available for the earthworm Eisenia fetida and for the arthropods Folsomia candida and Apis mellifera. Moreover, a study investigating effects of the substance on the carbon transformation by soil microorganisms is available.
In the long-term study with Eisenia fetida, an effect on reproduction was observed at the highest test concentration 1000 mg/kg soil dw. The NOEC was determined to be 500 mg/kg soil dw. The toxicity to Folsomia candida was also tested in a long-term study with substance concentrations up to 1000 mg test substance/kg soil. Effects of the substance on F. candida were not observed. In the study with Apis mellifera no effects were observed after oral or contact exposure at the tested doses (118.4 μg a.i./bee and 100 µg a.i./bee, respectively). The carbon transformation of soil microorganisms was not inhibited by the substance up to a concentration of 37.65 mg/kg soil dw (EC10 (28 d) > 37.65 mg/kg soil dw).

Based on these results low toxicity of the substance to terrestrial organisms is expected.
