Description of key information

The boiling point of hexacos-1-ene is >367°C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Boiling point at 101 325 Pa:
640 K

Additional information

An experimental boiling point is not available for hexacos-1-ene. A trend of increasing boiling point with carbon number is seen for the category of linear alpha olefins. Therefore based on read across from docos-1 -ene we can conclude that the boiling point is >367°C (Lide, 2008). This value is supported by the QSAR predicted boiling point of 403.17°C for hexacos-1 -ene (USEPA, 2008).
