Description of key information

Based on REACH regulation ANNEX VII column II: The study does not need to be conducted below a lower limit of -20°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Based on REACH regulation ANNEX VII column II: The study does not need to be conducted below a lower limit of -20°C.

Similar substance having a chain length with 8 carbon atoms has a melting point -62°C. Even though, the actual melting point for Myristil trisiloxane (12 carbon atoms) may be higher, it will never be higher than -20°C, which is the threshold for waiving accepted by Annex VII of REACH. The submitted supported study, demonstrates that the melting point of a similar trisiloxanes is much lower than -20°C
