First-aid measures

Skin contact: Wash off with soap and water.

Eye contact: Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present, after the first 5 minutes, then continue rinsing eye. If eye irritation or redness persists, see an ophthalmologist.

Ingestion:Rinse mouth. Do NOT induce vomiting. Call a physician or poison control center immediately.

Inhalation: Move to fresh air. Keep patient warm and at rest. Call a physician or poison control center immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

- Suitable extinguishing agents: Water spray, Carbon dioxide (CO2), Foam, Sand

- Special hazards caused by the material, its products of combustion or resulting gases: Carbon monoxide, Hydrogen chloride

- Protective equipment: In the event of fire and/or explosion do not breathe fumes. In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

- Additional information: Contain the spread of the fire-fighting media. Do not allow run-off from fire fighting to enter drains or water courses.

Accidental release measures

- Person-related safety precautions: Avoid contact with spilled product or contaminated surfaces. Use personal protective equipment.

- Measures for environmental protection: Do not allow to get into surface water, drains and ground water.

- Measures for cleaning/collecting: Use mechanical handling equipment. Clean contaminated floors and objects thoroughly, observing environmental regulations. Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal.

Handling and storage

This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with  REACH regulation Article 17(3) for on-site isolated intermediates and, in case the substance is transported to other sites for further processing, the substance should be handled at these sites under the Strictly Controlled Conditions as specified in REACH regulation Article 18(4).  Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at each manufacturing site.

Advice on safe handling: Use only in area provided with appropriate exhaust ventilation.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion: Keep away from heat and sources of ignition.

Hygiene measures: Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Keep working clothes separately. Wash hands before breaks and immediately after handling the product. Remove soiled clothing immediately and clean thoroughly before using again. Garments that cannot be cleaned must be

destroyed (burnt).

Requirements for storage areas and containers: Store in original container. Keep containers tightly closed in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place. Store in a place accessible by authorized persons only.

Advice on common storage: Keep away from food, drink and animal feedingstuffs.

Exposure controls / personal protection

This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with  REACH regulation Article 17(3) for on-site isolated intermediates and, in case the substance is transported to other sites for further processing, the substance should be handled at these sites under the Strictly Controlled Conditions as specified in REACH regulation Article 18(4).  Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at each manufacturing site.

Written confirmation of application of Strictly Controlled Conditions has been received from every affected Distributor and Downstream Processor/User of the Registrant’s intermediate.

Eyes: Wear goggles (conforming to EN166, Field of Use = 5 or equivalent).

Skin and Body: Wear standard coveralls and Category 3 Type 5 suit. If there is a risk of significant exposure, consider a higher protective type suit.

Wear two layers of clothing wherever possible. Polyester/cotton or cotton overalls should be worn under chemical protection suit and

should be professionally laundered frequently. If chemical protection suit is splashed, sprayed or significantly contaminated, decontaminate as far as possible, then carefully remove and dispose of as advised by manufacturer.

Respirators: If product is handled while not enclosed, and if contact may occur:

Wear respirator with a particle filter mask (protection factor 4)

conforming to European norm EN149FFP1 or equivalent.

Respiratory protection should only be used to control residual risk of short duration activities, when all reasonably practicable steps have

been taken to reduce exposure at source e.g. containment and/or local extract ventilation. Always follow respirator manufacturer's

instructions regarding wearing and maintenance.

Hand: Wear CE Marked (or equivalent) nitrile rubber gloves (minimum thickness of 0,4 mm). Wash when contaminated and dispose of

when contaminated inside, when perforated or when contamination on the outside cannot be removed. Wash hands frequently and

always before eating, drinking, smoking or using the toilet.

Stability and reactivity

Thermal decomposition: Stable under normal conditions.

Chemical stability: Stable under recommended storage conditions.

Possibility of hazardous reactions: No hazardous reactions when stored and handled according to prescribed instructions.

Conditions to avoid: Extremes of temperature and direct sunlight.

Incompatible materials: Store only in the original container.

Hazardous decomposition products: No decomposition products expected under normal conditions of use.

Disposal considerations

During the whole life cycle of the substance all necessary measures in accordance to art. 18(4) of (EC) 1907/2006 are undertaken. The substance is handled under strictly controlled conditions.

Waste air from the process is being burnt.

Solvents, mother liquors, solid or aqueous waste is being burnt.
