Phototransformation in air

After evaporation or exposure to the air, 1,2-dimethylimidazole will be rapidly degraded by photochemical processes.

Hydrolysis

According to structural properties, hydrolysis is not expected/probable.

Biodegradation

1,2-dimethylimidazole is considered inherently biodegradable according to OECD criteria.

Bioaccumulation

Stuyd waived. Accumulation in aquatic organsims is not to be expected.

Transport and distribution

Adsorption/desorption

Adsorption of 1,2-dimethylimidazole to the solid soil phase is not expected.

Henry´s Law constant

From the water surface, 1,2-dimethylimidazole will slowly evaporate into the atmosphere.
