Additional information

Sulfide:

As sulfides do not have a potential for bioconcentration/bioaccumulation, secondary poisoning is not relevant. However, data available for pigs (Cromwell, 1979) support this lack of potential for secondary poisoning. In this study, the addition of sulfide to the diet (nominal 450 ppm Na2S) did not affect rate or efficiency of weight gains and food efficiency as well as haemoglobin and hematocrit values.

Strontium:

Reliable and relevant study (Kroes, 1977) for repeated-dose toxicity to small mammals (rats) via the oral route are available for expsoures lasting up to 90 days. The NOAEL can be derived at 12.4 mg Sr/L, corresponding to 16.9 mg SrS/L.
