The test item has a coarse fraction (> 2000 µm) of 12.8 wt.-% and a fine fraction (< 2000 µm) of 87.2 wt.-%.

Fine fraction (< 2000µm):

A median particle size of D50= 111 µm (by volume) was determined by prior sieving and laser diffraction measurements.

D10 = 28.57 µm

D50 = 111.4 µm

D90 = 323.3 µm

Whole sample (coarse and fine fraction)

According to the results of the sieving analysis the whole sample of the test item (coarse and fine fraction) provided by the sponsor has following specific diameters by mass:

D10: 58 µm

D50: 197 µm (Median diameter)

D90: 2300 µm

Under consideration of a constant density, mass fraction corresponds to volume fraction.


Total Dustiness (airborne fraction): 173.08 mg/g (experimental results, DMT Report).
