Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Based on REACH regulation annex VIII column 2 (specific rules for adaptation from column 1) the study need not be conducted if based on the physicochemical properties the substance can be expected to have a low potential for adsorption (e.g. the substance has a low octanol water partition coefficient); logKow is 0.8.

Nevertheless note that Malachite Green (MG) is a cationic dye and cations generally adsorb more strongly to organic carbon and clay than their neutral counterparts.

Koc was however estimated using calculation software EpiSuite 4.1, for completeness sake.

For a more realistic prevision pattern the values of MG kow, melting point, water solubility were added.
