Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Conclusions:
In conlusion, the test item Fluowet I 800 had no acute toxic effects on Daphnia magna up to its solubility limit in test water under present test conditions.
Executive summary:

A limit test was performed in accordance with the test guidelines to demonstarte that the test item has no toxic effect on the the test organisms up to the solubility linit of the test item in test water. Due to the low water solubilty of the test item, a supersaturated dispersion of the the test iten with loading rate of 100 mg/L was continuously stirred at room temperature in the dark over one hour in a closed vessel. then, the dispersion was filtered. the undiluted filtrate with the maximum concentration of dissolved test item was used as the test medium. Additionally. a control was tested in parallel. All test vessels were completely filled and well closed to avoid losses of the test item caused by volatility.

the analytically measured test iten concentration in the analyzed test medium samples (the undiluted filtrate of the supersatureted dispersion) were below the limit of quantification (LOQ) of 0.0006 mg/L. The test medium samples from the start and the end of the test both showed small measurements were below the LOQ of the test item. Therefore, the biological results are based on loading rate of 100 mg/L.

In the control and the loading rate of 100 mg/L, no immobilized test organisms were observed during the test period of 48 hours.

The 48 -hour NOEC and the 48 -hour EC= of Fluowet I 800 to Daphnia magna were determined to be at the loading rate of 100 mg/L- The 48 -hour NOEC and the 48 -hour EC0 might even be higher, but concentrations above the solubilty limit of the test iten in the test water at the loading rate of 100 mg/L were not tested in accordance with the test guidelines. The 48 -hour EC50 and the 48 -hour EC100 were clearly higher thean the loading rate of 100 mg/L. these values could not be qunatified, since the test item had no toxic effect on the daphnids up to the highest test iten concentration which could be dissolved in the test water.
