Abiotic degradation is not a relevant pathway in the environmental fate of 1,2,3-Propanetriol, homopolymer, diisooctadecanoate (CAS 63705-03-3). Since the substance is not likely to be present in the atmosphere based on the low vapour pressure (< 0.0001 Pa at 20 °C), indirect photolysis in air is not a relevant degradation pathway. Abiotic hydrolysis is not relevant, since the substance is readily biodegradable and is expected to be eliminated through biodegradation in natural waters. Additionally, the estimated half-life for hydrolysis is low based on reliable QSAR calculations (DT50 = 96.13 d - 1.41 yr at pH 8; DT50 = 2.63 yr - 14.15 yr at pH 7).
