Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

With high probability acutely not harmful to fish under neutralised test conditions.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The toxicity of 1 -Ethylpiperidine (CAS 766 -09 -6) to the test organism Leuciscus idus was tested closely to the Guideline DIN 38 412, June 1982. The obtained LC50 (96 hr) was ca. 25 mg/L. After neutralisation, no mortality was observed at a concentration of 100 mg/L, therefore it can be assumed that the toxic effect is due to the pH shift induced by the test substance. Based on the neutralised LC50 (96 hr) of > 100 mg/L, the test substance is assessed to be with high probability acutely not harmful to aquatic organisms.
