Biodegradation in water: screening test

The ready biodegradability of the test item was tested in the CO2 evolution test with non-adapted inoculum over a period of 28 days according to OECD 301 B (1992). The test item (20 mg TOC/L) reached a degree of degradation of 86.8% after 28 days. In a separate study a degradation rate up to 68% was observed supporting the ready biodegradability of the test item..

Biodegradation in water and sediment: simulation test

According to column 2 of REACH Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex IX, section 9.2.1.2 and section 9.2.1.4. a biodegradation in water and sediment: simulation test does not need to be conducted as the substance is readily biodegradable.
