Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
bioaccumulation in aquatic species: fish
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance has a low potential for bioaccumulation based on log Kow <=3

Description of key information

The logKow values of all of the major components of Reaction mass of 2-ethylpropane-1,3-diol(DMP) and 5-ethyl-1,3-dioxane-5-methanol(CTF) and propylidynetrimethanol(TMP) are reported to be <3 (see Section 4.7, partition coefficient). The logKow is below the trigger of 3 therefore the substance Reaction mass of 2-ethylpropane-1,3-diol(DMP) and 5-ethyl-1,3-dioxane-5-methanol(CTF) and propylidynetrimethanol(TMP) is not expected to bioaccumulate in living organisms. According to Column 2 of Annex IX of the REACH regulation, no bioaccumulation study is required if the logKow is below the trigger of 3.
