In a study to determine the hydrolysis rates of Polyol TD no significant levels of hydrolysis were detected after 5 days in buffers at pH 4, 7 and 9.

In all cases hydrolysis rates were less than10%.

This result indicates a hydrolysis half-life of greater than 1 year at environmentally relevant temperatures and pH levels (between 4 and 9).

As such this result suggests that abiotic removal in the form of hydrolysis will not be a significant pathway of degradation for the Reaction mass of 2-ethylpropane-1,3-diol(DMP) and 5-ethyl-1,3-dioxane-5-methanol(CTF) and propylidynetrimethanol(TMP) in the environment.
