Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

According to Appendix IX, point 9.3.2, the study need not be conducted if the substance has a low potential for bioaccumulation (for instance a log Kow ≤ 3) and/or a low potential to cross biological membranes. The data waiving criteria is fulfilled with a measured log Kow of -0.69 for the test item.

The Bioconcentration Factor (BCF) of 2,5,7,10-TETRAOXAUNDECANE has been calculated using BCFBAF v3.01 (EPI Suite, US EPA). The BCFBAF program and estimation methodology were developed at Syracuse Research Corporation. BCF is estimated from the compound’s log Kow.

The training dataset include 466 Non-ionic compounds. Methodology for non-ionic compounds was to separate compounds into 3 divisions as follows: log Kow < 1.0; log Kow from 1.0 to 7.0 and log Kow >7.0. All compounds with a Log Kow <1.0 are assigned an estimated Log BCF of 0.50.

Log BCF of 2,5,7,10-TETRAOXAUNDECANE is estimated as 0.50 (corresponding to a BCF value of 3.162 L/kg wwt) from experimental log Kow of -0.69.
