Endpoint:
boiling point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
comparable to guideline study with acceptable restrictions
Qualifier:
no guideline followed
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The vapor pressures were measured by means of a dynamic method with an ebulliometer. With this equipment, vapor pressures of pure components can be experimentally determined in a temperature range from approx. 250 to 600 K and at pressures from about
1 mbar up to 1 bar. At a given pressure (regulated by an electronic pressure control), the boiling temperatures of a component are measured. Due to the volume of the equipment only small amounts of the substances (about 20 ml) are needed.
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
dynamic method
Specific details on test material used for the study:
Purity: 99.638%
Boiling pt.:
201.5 °C

Conclusions:
Normal boiling point of 2,5,7,10-Tetraoxaundecane (TOU) has been measured by means of a dynamic method with an ebulliometer at temperature range from 318.10 to 475.31K. Using the Antoine equation, the normal boiling point has been determined as 201.5°C at 1013 mbar.
