Two short-term toxicity studies with Daphnia magna are available for zinc diethyldithiocarbamate. A non-GLP, OECD 202 guideline study is available (van Leeuwen et al., 1985a; van Leeuwen, 1986). The test is semi-static without analytical monitoring. The 48-h EC50 value is 0.24 mg/L in Daphnia magna.
Another study is a static GLP-compliant, EPA-660/3-75-009 guideline study without analytical monitoring (Analytical Bio-Chemistry Laboratories, Inc., 1983d). The 48-h EC50 value in Daphnia magna is 0.44 mg/L.
The 48-h EC50 of 0.24 mg/L is the most critical value and is therefore used for assessment.
