Method :                              Differential Scanning Calorimetry

Instrument :                          Perkin Elmer DSC Diamond Calorimeter

Calibration:                           The calorimeter has been calibrate by means of Indium standard.

Sample preparation :           An amount of approximately 10 mg of the sample has been placed on the specimen crucible and put into the instruments sample furnace. A void crucible has been put into the instruments reference furnace. The system has been cooled down to -90°C and let stabilized at that temperature for 2 minutes before start the analysis.

Analysis condition :              The sample has undergone the following thermal cycle:

I run:

Tin= -90°C; Tfin= +30°C; Temperature speed rate= 20°C/min;

Melting Point :                      Tm= -25.4°C(I run)

Conclusions:
The measured melting point was -25,4 °C.

Description of key information

The freezing point was determined to be -19.9 °C. The pour point was determined to be -48 °C. Both by Mazzei and Lunghi (2013).

The melting point, measured by DSC was -25.4 °C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
-25.4 °C
