Description of key information

Expressed in terms of fluoride anion the EC50 values for freshwater algae ranged from 43 to 122 mg/L. For marine algae the EC50 was 81 mg/L for Skeletonema costatum.
This equals 110 to 315 mg/l of WF6 for freshwater and 209 mg/l of WF6 for marine algae.
lease note that WF6 is hydrolizing rapidly into HF and WOx compounds, when exposed to moisture. WF6 is not intended to get in contact with any environmental compartment and these values should be considered as only hypotheticaly.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
110 mg/L
EC50 for marine water algae:
209 mg/L
