First-aid measures

INHALATION:

Remove victim immediately from source of exposure. Keep the affected person warm and at rest. Get prompt medical attention.

INGESTION:

NEVER MAKE AN UNCONSCIOUS PERSON VOMIT OR DRINK FLUIDS! Rinse mouth thoroughly. Get medical attention immediately!

SKIN CONTACT:

Remove affected person from source of contamination. Remove contaminated clothing. Wash the skin immediately with soap and water. Get medical attention promptly if symptoms occur after washing.

EYE CONTACT:

Remove victim immediately from source of exposure. Make sure to remove any contact lenses from the eyes before rinsing. Promptly wash eyes with plenty of water while lifting the eye lids. Get medical attention immediately. Continue to rinse.

Fire-fighting measures

EXTINGUISHING MEDIA:

Extinguish with foam, carbon dioxide or dry powder. Do not use water as an extinguisher. Decomposes slowly with water to yield isobutyraldehyde (flammable).

SPECIAL FIRE FIGHTING PROCEDURES:

Use water SPRAY only to cool containers! Do not put water on leaked material. Keep run-off water out of sewers and water sources. Dike for water control. Water used for fire extinguishing, which has been in contact with the product, may be corrosive.

SPECIFIC HAZARDS:

In case of fire, toxic and corrosive gases may be formed. Closed containers can burst violently when heated, due to excess pressure build-up.

PROTECTIVE MEASURES IN FIRE:

Self contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing must be worn in case of fire.

Accidental release measures

PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS:

In case of inadequate ventilation, use respiratory protection. Wear protective clothing as described in Section 8 of the safety data sheet.

ENVIRONMENTAL PRECAUTIONS:

Do not allow ANY environmental contamination.

SPILL CLEAN UP METHODS:

Exclude all non-essential personnel. DO NOT TOUCH SPILLED MATERIAL! Stop leak if possible without risk. Absorb in vermiculite, dry sand or earth and place into containers. Avoid using any materials mentioned in section 10 of the MSDS.

Handling and storage

USAGE PRECAUTIONS:

Avoid inhalation of vapours/spray and contact with skin and eyes. Do not use in confined spaces without adequate ventilation and/or respirator. Persons susceptible for allergic reactions should not handle this product.

STORAGE PRECAUTIONS:

Store in tightly closed original container in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place. Keep in original container.

STORAGE CLASS:

Gloves, goggles.

PROCESS CONDITIONS:

Provide eyewash, quick drench.

ENGINEERING MEASURES:

Provide adequate ventilation. Observe Workplace Exposure Limits and minimise the risk of inhalation of vapours.

RESPIRATORY EQUIPMENT:

In case of inadequate ventilation or risk of inhalation of vapours, use suitable respiratory equipment with combination filter (type A2/P2).

HAND PROTECTION:

Protective gloves and goggles must be used if there is a risk of direct contact or splash. Use protective gloves made of: Butyl rubber. Nitrile. Rubber, neoprene or PVC. Viton rubber (fluor rubber).

EYE PROTECTION:

If risk of splashing, wear safety goggles or face shield.

OTHER PROTECTION:

Wear appropriate clothing to prevent any possibility of skin contact.
