Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Executive summary:

The surface tension of the Reaction mass of 2-[2-(benzoyloxy)ethoxy]ethyl benzoate, 1 -[2 -(benzoyloxy)propoxy]propan-2 -yl benzoate, and 2-[2-[2-(benzoyloxy)ethoxy]ethoxy]ethyl benzoate has been found to be 61.1 nN/m at 21.2°C and a concentration of 0.0306 g/L. Therefore, the substance can not be considered to be surface active.

Description of key information

EU Method A.5 (Surface Tension) – Ring Method (Fox J. M. and White D. F., 2010)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Surface tension:
61.6
in mN/m at 20°C and concentration in mg/L:
0.031

Additional information

The surface tension of the Reaction mass of 2-[2-(benzoyloxy)ethoxy]ethyl benzoate, 1 -[2 -(benzoyloxy)propoxy]propan-2 -yl benzoate, and 2-[2-[2-(benzoyloxy)ethoxy]ethoxy]ethyl benzoate has been found to be 61.1 nN/m at 21.2°C and a concentration of 0.0306 g/L. Therefore, the substance can not be considered to be surface active.

The key value given above has not been determined at 20 °C but at 21.2 °C. However, this subtle distinction is not expected to have a significant impact and the value was therefore inserted above.
