Additional information

BDGMA is reported to be a colourless liquid with ester-like odour at 20°C and 1013 hPa.

No melting point of BDGMA could be determined by differential scanning calorimetry but an endothermic cp-step at -109 °C; characteristic for a glass transition, i.e. the test item solidifies amorphously. Therefore a melting point <-20 °C is adopted for BDGMA.

The boiling temperature of BDGMA was determined by differential scanning calorimetry according to EEC-Directive 92/69 EEC, Part A, Methods for the determination of physico-chemical properties, A.2 "Boiling temperature", EEC Publication No. L383, December 1992. Boiling temperature: 270-271 °C .

The density of BDGMA is reported to be 0.971 g/cm³ at 20°C (DIN 51757).

In accordance with column 2 of REACH regulation annex VII, a granulometry test does not need to be conducted as the substance is a liquid.

The vapour pressure of BDGMA is reported to be 0.32 Pa at 20°C (OECD 104).

The n-Octanol / water partition coefficient (log Kow) of BDGMA is reported to be 3.1 at ambient temperature (20 °C assumed) (OECD 117).

The water solubility of BDGMA is reported to be 2560 mg/L at 20°C (OECD 105).

In accordance with column 2 of REACH regulation annex VII, surface tension testing does not need to be conducted. Based on structure, no surface activity is expected. The test substance is not used as detergent.

The flash point of BDGMA is reported to be 118°C at 1013.25 hPa (EU method A.9, Pensky Martens) .

The auto-ignition temperature of BDGMA is reported to be 280°C at 1021 hPa (EU method A 15, DIN 51794).

According to REACH Regulation (Annex XI, 1.), the study on flammability does not need to be conducted if the available data are sufficient for assessment. For BDGMA, tests on flash point and auto-ignition are available. Pyrophoricity and flammability on contact with water are not expected based on a consideration of the structure of the substance.

In accordance with column 2 of REACH regulation annex VII, explosive properties testing does not need to be conducted as there are no chemical groups associated with explosive properties in the molecule.

In accordance with column 2 of REACH regulation annex VII, oxidising properties testing does not need to be conducted on the basis of chemical structure.

In accordance with column 1 of REACH regulation annex IX, stability in organic solvents testing is not required as stability of the substance is not considered critical. The test substance has no particular reactivity towards typical solvents and is not used in solution.

In accordance with column 2 of REACH regulation annex IX, dissociation constant testing does not need to be conducted as there are no dissociable groups.

The dynamic viscosity of BDGMA is reported to be ca. 4 mPa s at 20 °C.
