Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In the key study (Butler, 2013), the melting point of the test material was investigated in a GLP study which was conducted in accordance with the standardised guidelines OECD 102 and EU Method A.1 using differential scanning calorimetry.

Aliquots of the test material were added to aluminium crucibles and heated from 25 to 150 °C at a rate of 1.0 °C/minute; the thermographic data obtained was evaluated.

Under the conditions of this study, the melting range was determined to be 73.4 to 86.2 ± 0.5 °C (347 to 359 ± 0.5 K).

Supporting information is provided in the form of a review article (Summer, 2003) in which the melting point of the test material was reported to be 84 to 87 °C. No information is presented on materials and methods.
