MAPTAC has a high water solubility (1059 g/mL at 20°C), a low vapour pressure (0.001 Pa at 20°C) and a low log Kow of -2.58. The substance has a low potential for adsorption to soil (calculated log Koc -0.62 (Kow method) and 1.68 (MCI method)) and a low potential to volatilise from water to air (H = 2.05E-013 Pa m³/mol at 25°C and 1013 hPa).

Results from a Mackay level III distribution modelling indicate that if MAPTAC is released into air, it mainly distributes to soil. A smaller amount partitions to water. If the substance is released into water, it mainly remains in water. The substance does not significantly partition to sediment.
