Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

No toxic effects up to the limit of water solubility (< 0.004 mg/L in aqua dest) for Daphnia magna (OECD 202)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

One study investigating the toxicity of Bis(2-octyldodecyl) azelate (CAS 897626-46-9) to aquatic invertebrates is available. The static study was conducted according to GLP and OECD guideline 202 using Daphnia magna as test organism (Noack, 2009). The test solution for this limit test was obtained by filtering a 100 mg/L loading rate stock solution. The test concentration was measured using LC-MS; however, the analysis showed that the substance is only poorly soluble in water and thus the nominal concentration was used for determination of an effect value. No immobilization was observed during a test period of 48 hours. Hence, the 48 h-EC50 is determined to be > 100 mg/L loading rate.
