Monitoring data of Triglyme in river Rhine

Concentrations of Triglyme in the river Rhine are monitored regularly by the State office „Landesamt für Natur, Umwelt und Verbraucherschutz Nordrhein-Westfalen“ and different organissations (IKSR, WAP, INGO, RIWA). Background concentrations of Triglyme in the river Rhine are less than 1.0 µg/L. Triglyme peak concentrations were observed in irregular intervals (max 3.0 µg/L). According to the monitoring report of the State Office an acute toxicity for the biocenosis of the river Rhine is not expected even at the elevated concentrations. The State Office is also not expecting a threat for the production of drinking water.

Data on the concentration of Triglyme in soil or sediment are not available.
