Test solutions

Vehicle:
no
Details on test solutions:
Stock solution was prepared by adding 36 mg test substance to 0.5 g Chromosorb G (60-80 mesh) in a headspace vial to get a homogeneous solution in water. The vial was placed on a roller bank in a climate chamber at 20°C for 1 hour. Afterward, the content was transferred into a 320 ml flask completely filled with Elendt medium and closed with a screw cap and stored at room temperature for 3 days. The stock solution concentration was determined on the day of the test initiation to be 41.4 mg/l. The test solutions were prepared by consecutive dilutions.

Results and discussion

Effect concentrations
Duration:

Basis for effect:
mobility
Remarks on result:
other: 95% confidence interval: 1.3-2.4 mg/l
Details on results:
- Behavioural abnormalities: 2 organisms lying on the bottom of the flask were observed at the NOEC (1.3 mg/l)
- Observations on body length and weight: n/a
- Other biological observations: no
- Mortality of control: No mortality or immobility observed
- Other adverse effects control: No
- Abnormal responses: No
- Any observations (e.g. precipitation) that might cause a difference between measured and nominal values: No

Any other information on results incl. tables

No immobility was observed in the control samples and up to 1.3 mg/l (measured conc.). 100% immobility was observed in the 3 samples at 2.4 mg/l (measured concentrations). A 48 hours EC50 was calculated by the geometric mean of the highest concentration without effect and the lowest concentrations with 100% immobility leading to a 48 -h EC50 of 1.8 mg/l.
