First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Bring affected person in fresh air, consult physician.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for 10 minutes and get medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Immediately wash with water and soap and get medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Rinse mouth with water and give plenty of water. Get medical attention immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media: water fog, foam, dry chemical, CO2

Hazardous combustion products: CO, CO2, nitrogen oxides, HCN

Fire-Fighting equipment: Respiratory and eye protection required. Full protective equipment and a self-contained respirator with full face protection should be used.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Evacuate immediate area. Remove all sources of ignition. Wear eye protection, inpermeable gloves and respirator.

Allow only skilled person with eye and breath protection.

Cover the spilt material with non-flammable absorbing

material. If possible use an industrial vaccuum cleaner.

Collect and keep in closed well-labelled containers.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid contact with skin and eyes. In case of emergency use

gasmask with full face protection.

Wear chemically resistant protection gloves, protective

clothes and goggles. Store contaminated clothes in a

container until cleaning.

Working places should have good air conditioning.

Installation of isocyanate monitor.

Storage: Container should be stored under normal safe conditions.

Use unbreakable containers. Safeguard against fall-down.

Avoid residue on outside of container.

Avoid direct sunlight. Storage under N2.

Provide good ventilation.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Engineering controls: Provide general ventilation. Use closed system or local exhaust ventilation. Provide safety shower and eye wash station near work area.

Personal protective equipment:

Respiratory protection: Chemical cartridge respirator with organic vapor cartridge(s), supplied-air purifying respirator, breathing apparatus.

Skin protection: Protective gloves, Safety helmet, protective clothing, safety boots and apron.

Eye protection: Safety glasses, goggles or face shield.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Harmful when swallowed, absorbed by skin or inhalated.

Chemical reaction with water: Reacts with water: release of CO2 and NBDA - No

dangerous reaction.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: None  Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: Special waste treatment (substance as such).  When causing reaction with alcohol, polyurethan is developed which can be treated like other polyurethanes.  Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Substance does not enter public domain.
