Description of key information

Column 2 of the Corrigendum to Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, Annex VIII, states that a study does not need to be performed if the test substance is marketed or used in a non solid or non granular form. Dimethyl octadecylphosphonate (DMOP) is used in lubricants for vehicles and machinery. During use DMOP will be in liquid form and therefore there will be no risk from inhalation of respirable granules. In solid form DMOP is a waxy solid and the substance is therefore not expected to become airborne.
