Description of key information

No inhibition of nitrification. EC50 (4 h): > 100 mg/L (EN ISO 9509)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A test on inhibition of nitrification of activated sludge microorganisms by 6-methyl-2-oxoperhydropyrimidin-4-yl urea is available (Bachner M., 2004). The study was conducted following the method described in EN ISO 9509. Domestic activated sludge was incubated with the substance for four hours. The nitrification rate was assessed by measuring the nitrate and nitrite concentration after the exposure period. The tested substance concentrations caused no nitrification inhibition. The determined EC50 after four hours was >100 mg/L based on the nominal substance concentration.
