Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Inhalation:  If symptoms appear, seek medical advice.

Skin contact: If symptoms appear, seek medical advice.

Eye contact: Rinse with plenty of lukewarm water.  If sypmtoms appear, seek medical advice.

Ingestion: If symptoms appear, seek medical advice.

No special first aid equipment is needed.

Fire-fighting measures

Fe3P is not flammable.  Finely pulverised substances suspended in the air can cause a dust explosion, but the particle size of the product makes this improbable.  The risk of dust explosion increases for very fine particle fractions (<45 µm).

Suitable extinguishing media: Should be selected on the basis of the nature of fires in the area, e.g. water mist, foam, carbon dioxide, powder.

Unsuitable extinguishing media: Foam containing substances harmful to the environment, such as perfluoro-octanesulphonic acid (PFOS) or nononyl ethoxylate.

Protective equipment for fire-fighters: Use self-contained breathing aparratus in the event of a major fire.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Refer to "Exposure controls / personal protection".

Environmental precautions: Prevent material from entering drains and sewers.

Methods for cleaning up: Spillage should be cleared with vacuum equipment, protected against static electricity, to avoid excess dust.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid dusty working conditions.  Use sufficient dust extraction.

Storage: Store in dry conditions.

Exposure controls / personal protection

1. Technical protection measures: Normally not needed.  If occupational exposure limit is suspected to be reached or dust levels are high, exposure measurement is recommended.

2. Organisational protection measures: Normal ventilation. Use local exhaust ventilation if the dust concentration is high.

3. Hand protection: Not normally required

4. Feet protection: No special precautions

5. Body protection: Normal work suit

6. Eye protection: Not normally required

7. Respiratory protection: Halfmask with particle filter P2 shall be worn if exposure limit value is suspected to be exceeded or the dust is percieved to be disturbing.

Stability and reactivity

Conditions to avoid: Dust formation

Materials to avoid: Strong acids and strong oxidisers.
