Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
appearance / physical state / colour
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
Experimental dates: 15-18 October 2019
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
test procedure in accordance with generally accepted scientific standards and described in sufficient detail
Remarks:
Data comes from the description of the test substance in the GLP report on other physico-chemical property. No guideline is required according to REACh TGD. The substance is adequately characterised. Therefore full validation applies.
Qualifier:
no guideline required
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Remarks:
signed on 15 Nov. 2018
Specific details on test material used for the study:
Actual storage conditions: Ambient temperature away from light. Kept in the original container.
Physical state at 20°C and 1013 hPa:
liquid
Colour:
Very pale yellow to pale yellow liquid
Substance type:
organic

Two bottles were sent to the test facility by the sponsor. The appearance of the test item in these bottles differs. One is paler than the other. The difference is due to the difference of conditioning volume that affects the test item “maturation” according to the sponsor.

The viscosity is also described as fluid as water.

Executive summary:

The substance was tested under GLP for physico-chemical properties.

In the report, the sample is described as a very pale to pale yellow, fluid, liquid.

Description of key information

Very pale yellow to pale yellow, fluid, liquid.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Physical state at 20°C and 1013 hPa:
liquid
Colour:
yellow
Colour intensity:
light

Additional information

Experimental studies were conducted under GLP for the determination of physicochemical properties of the substance, including fully reliable description of the test sample. The report with the most detailed description, including slight colour evolution and qualitative assessment of viscosity, was retained (i.e. determination of the surface tension). The result is retained as key value.
