Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Inhalation:       If aerosol or mists are formed: If necessary: Provide with fresh air.

Skin Contact:       Wash off with plenty of water and soap.

Eye contact:       Rinse thoroughly with plenty of water keeping eyelid open. In case of persistent discomfort: Consult an ophthalmologist.

Ingestion:       Have the mouth rinsed with water. After absorbing large amounts of substance / In case of discomfort: Supply with medical care.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed:       None known.

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed

Hazards:       None known.

Treatment:       After absorbing large amounts of substance: administration of activated charcoal. Acceleration of gastrointestinal passage

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media

Unsuitable extinguishing media:       High volume water jet

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:       May be released in case of fire: carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, sulphur oxides, organic products of decomposition.

Advice for firefighters

Special fire fighting procedures:       Water used to extinguish fire should not enter drainage systems, soil or stretches of water. Ensure there are sufficient retaining facilities for water used to extinguish fire. Fire residues and contaminated fire extinguishing water must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.

Special protective equipment for fire-fighters:       In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:       Use personal protective equipment. Ensure adequate ventilation.

For non-emergency personnel:       Defect containers must be isolated and sealed immediately.

For emergency responders:       No data available.

Environmental Precautions:       Do not allow entrance in sewage water, soil stretches of water, groundwater, drainage systems.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:       Absorb with liquid-binding material e.g. sand, saw dust universal binder Collect in suitable containers.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling:       Local ventilation. Always close container tightly after removal of product. Assure impermeability at all times. The personal protective equipment used must meet the requirements of Regulation (EU) 2016/425 and amendments (CE certification). Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. If workplace exposure limits are exceeded and/or larger amounts are released (leakage, spilling, dust) the indicated respiratory protection should be used. If there is the possibility of skin/eye contact, the indicated hand/eye/body protection should be used. Do not breathe in vapours or aerosols. Avoid contact with the skin and the eyes.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:       Take precautionary measures against static discharges. Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking. Keep away from humidity. Explosion protection is recommended in case the explosion limits for the following substance might be exceeded: Ethanol. Danger of explosion from residual product fumes; therefore avoid spark production through cutting, grinding, or welding work in the area of the container. When repairs of the production system are to be made (e.g. welding work), the section to be repaired must be essentially free of product. Keep containers tightly closed in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place. Storage temperature 10-40 °C Storage period: at least 12 months Do not store together with: acids and alcaline solutions.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Control Parameters

Occupational Exposure Limits

None of the components have assigned exposure limits.

Exposure controls

Individual protection measures, such as personal protective equipment

Eye/face protection:       goggles

Hand Protection:       Additional Information: Wear protective gloves made of resistant material.

Material: Butyl rubber.

Break-through time: >= 480 min

Glove thickness: 0.5 mm

Material: Nitrile rubber.

Break-through time: >= 480 min

Glove thickness: 0.35 mm

Material: Fluorinated rubber (Viton)

Break-through time: >= 480 min

Glove thickness: 0.4 mm

Additional Information: The rupture time and material thickness data are guideline values! Exact rupture time / material thickness data can be obtained from the protective glove manufacturer., Suitability for specific workplaces should be clarified with protective glove manufacturers., Please observe that the daily duration of usage of a chemical protective glove is in practice far shorter due to the many influencing factors (e.g. temperature, mechanical strain on the glove material) than the permeation time determined acc. EN 374.

Skin and Body Protection:       No special protective equipment required. When handling larger quantities: disposable protective suit (Solvent-resistant)

Respiratory Protection:       In case of dusts/vapours/aerosols being formed or if the limit values like TLV are exceeded: use respiratory equipment with suitable filter (filter type ABEK) or wear a self contained respiratory apparatus Use only respiratory protection equipment with CE-symbol including four digit test number. The filter class for the respirator must be suitable for the maximum expected contaminant concentration (gas/vapour/aerosol/particulates) that may arise when handling the product. If this concentration is exceeded, self-contained breathing apparatus must be used. Note time limit for wearing respiratory protective equipment.

Hygiene measures:       When using, do not eat, drink or smoke. Wash face and/or hands before break and end of work. Preventive skin protection is recommended. Remove contaminated or saturated clothing. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity:       No dangerous reaction known under conditions of normal use.

Chemical Stability:       Stable under recommended storage conditions.

Possibility of hazardous reactions:       Reaction with water, acids and alcaline solutions. Formation of ethanol.

Conditions to avoid:       Protect from moisture. Keep away from heat and sources of ignition. When heated, formation of explosive vapour/air mixtures.

Incompatible Materials:       Water. Alkalies. acids

Hazardous Decomposition Products:       Ethanol in case of hydrolysis. long-chain ethoxylated alcohols Alcohol formed by hydrolysis lowers the flash point of the product.
