Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
melting point/freezing point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
Sep 2017
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
comparable to guideline study with acceptable restrictions
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: Internal SOP (G2801) Drop Point (after 24 hours)
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
other: Drop point used to define the melting point (after DSC attempt)
Melting / freezing pt.:
38 °C
Remarks on result:
other: atmospheric pressure assumed

Results

DSC measurement was inconclusive, a broad shallow indicated a wide metling range. For this reason, Drop point was used as a measure of the melting point, thus giving a single point measurement of when the material flows freely. This is the result reported.

Description of key information

The substance melted at 38 °C (Drop point)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
38 °C

Additional information

DSC measurement was inconclusive, thus drop point was used as a measure of the melting point, thus giving a single point measurement of when the material flows freely.
