First-aid measures

Remove contaminated clothing immediatley and dispose off safely.

In case of accident or if you feel unwell, seek medical advice immediately (show this label if possible).

In case of inhalation:

Remove casualty to fresh air and keep warm and at rest.

In case of irregular breathing or respiratory arrest provide artificial respiration.

In case of skin contact:

IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of soap and water.

If skin irritation occurs: Get medical advice/attention.

In case of eye contact:

IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing.

In case of eye irritation consult an ophthalmologist.

In case of ingestion:

Rinse mouth immediately and drink large quantities of water.

Immediately call a POISON CENTER or doctor/ physician.

Fire-fighting measures

Use water spray/stream to protect personnel and to cool endangered containers.

Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. Do not allow entering drains or surface water.

Suitable extinguishing media:

Water spray. Carbon dioxide. Dry extinguishing powder. Foam.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:

Provide adequate ventilation.

Use appropriate personal protective equipment.

Remove all sources of ignition.

Clean contaminated objects and areas thoroughly observing environmental regulations

Environmental precautions:

Do not allow to enter into surface water or drains.

Inform the relevant authorities if the product has caused environmental pollution.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:

Stop leak if safe to do so.

Avoid generation of dust.

Wet clean or vacuum up solids.

Collect in closed containers for disposal.

Dangerous areas must be delimited and marked with appropriate warning and safety signs.

Handling and storage

This substance should be handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH regulation Article 17(3) for on-site isolated intermediates and Article 18(4) for transported isolated intermediates in that it is rigorously contained during its whole lifecycle. Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management systems should be available at each manufacturing site and is also confirmed for the transport as well as for the use of the substance.

Precautions for safe handling:

All work processes must always be designed so that the inhalation/skin contact/eye contact is excluded.

Ensure adequate ventilation/exhaustion at workplace.

Wear personal protective clothing

Measures required to protect the environment:

Use isolated drainage to prevent discharge to soil.

Wet scrubber for elimination of volatile components from waste gases.

Use the following chemical treatment methods for waste water: Incineration.

Use the following recovery and/or abatement technique for cleaning waste gases: Exhaust air scrubber.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:

Technical measures and storage conditions:

Keep container tightly closed in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place.

Remove all sources of ignition.

Ensure containers are properly labeled.

storage temperature: 2 - 4 °C

Requirements for storage rooms and vessels:

Exposure controls / personal protection

Control parameters Recommendation: Occupational exposure limit value: 40µg/m3 (TWA)

Exposure controls:

In the immediate working surroundings there must be:

-provide eye wash and label its location conspicuously.

-emergency shower installed.

Eye/face protection:

Suitable eye protection: Eye glasses with side protection. Face protection shield. (DIN EN 166)

Skin protection:

Wear suitable protective clothing depending on activity and possible exposure: apron, protecting boots, chemical-protection suit or air fed suit with exhaust valve.

Use protective gloves complying with EC directive 89/686/EEC and the resultant standard EN374/EN388.

The glove material has to be impermeable and resistant to the substance.

Suitable gloves type: PVC (Polyvinyl chloride). Butyl rubber. NBR (Nitrile rubber).

Respiratory protection:

In case of inadequate ventilation wear respiratory protection.

A NIOSH/MSHA-approved or CE-marked respiratory protection equipment with assigned protection factor above 20 should be used.

Stability and reactivity

Chemical stability: Stable under normal temperature and pressure

Incompatible materials: Strong oxidizing agents.

Disposal considerations

Waste disposal according to EC Directives 2008/98/EC on waste and hazardous waste in their latest versions.

This combustible material may be burned in a chemical incinerator equipped with an afterburner and scrubber.

Non-contaminated packages may be recycled.

Handle contaminated packaging in the same way as the substance itself.
