First-aid measures

- General advice: Show this safety data sheet to the doctor in attendance. First aider needs to protect himself. Place affected clothing in a sealed bag for subsequent decontamination.

- If inhaled: Move to fresh air. Keep at rest. Consult a physician if necessary.

- Skin contact: Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately. Wash immediately and thoroughly for a prolonged period (at least 15 minutes).Consult a physician if necessary.

- Eye contact: Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. Get immediate medical advice/ attention.

- Ingestion: Do NOT induce vomiting. Do not give anything to drink. Consult a physician if necessary.

Fire-fighting measures

- Suitable extinguishing media: Carbon dioxide (CO2); Multi-purpose powders; Foam; Water spray

- Unsuitable extinguishing media: High volume water jet

- Specific hazards during firefighting: On heating, harmful or toxic vapours are released. On combustion, toxic gases are released. Highly flammable gas is released, which increases fire/explosion hazards.

- Special protective equipment for firefighters: Self-contained breathing apparatus (EN 133); Boots; Gloves; Goggles

- Specific fire fighting methods: Cool containers/tanks with water spray

Accidental release measures

- Personal precautions: Avoid contact with the skin and the eyes. Do not breathe vapour. Remove all sources of ignition.

- Personal protective equipment: Wear suitable protective clothing. Wear suitable gloves. Tightly fitting safety goggles.

- Emergency procedures: Stop the leak. Turn leaking containers leak-side up to prevent the escape of liquid. Ventilate the area.

- Environmental precautions: Prevent product from entering drains. Contain the spilled material by bunding.

- Recovery: Recover as much of the product as possible. Pump up the product into a spare container :- suitably labelled. Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal.

- Neutralization: Absorb non-recoverable liquid with Sand

- Decontamination/cleaning: Wash off with plenty of water. Recover the cleaning water for subsequent disposal.

Handling and storage

- Technical measures for safe handling: Vapour extraction at source. Use explosion-proof electrical/ventilating/lighting equipment.

- Advice on safe handling and usage: Avoid the formation or spread of mists in the atmosphere.

- Technical Measures for storage: Take all necessary measures to avoid accidental discharge of products into drains and waterways due to the rupture of containers or transfer systems.

- Recommended storage conditions: Protect from moisture. Keep in a well-ventilated place. Keep away from open flames, hot surfaces and sources of ignition. Keep away from incompatible materials.

- Incompatible materials: Strong acids; Strong oxidizing agents

- Recommended packaging materials: Plastic materials.

- Incompatible packaging materials: Uncoated metals.

- Storage temperature: below 30 degrees Celsius

Exposure controls / personal protection

1. Technical protection measures: Avoid splashes. Emergency equipment immediately accessible, with instructions for use. Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location.

2. Organisational protection measures: Regular cleaning of equipment, work area and clothing. Use clean, well-maintained personal protection equipment. Store personal protection equipment in a clean location away from the work area. Keep working clothes separately. Contaminated work clothing should not be allowed out of the workplace. Contaminated clothing must never be washed or reused. Wash hands before breaks and immediately after handling the product. When using do not eat, drink or smoke. The product must only be handled by specifically trained employees.

3. Hand protection: Where there is a risk of contact with hands, use appropriate gloves. The selected protective gloves have to satisfy the specifications of EU Directive 89/686/EEC and the standard EN 374 derived from it. Please observe the instructions regarding permeability and breakthrough time which are provided by the supplier of the gloves. Also take into consideration the specific local conditions under which the product is used, such as the danger of cuts, abrasion, and the contact time. Gloves must be inspected prior to use. Gloves should be discarded and replaced if there is any indication of degradation or chemical breakthrough.

4. Feet protection: boots

5. Body protection: Choose body protection according to the amount and concentration of the dangerous substance at the work place. Remove and wash contaminated clothing.

6. Eye protection: Safety glasses. In case of contact through splashing: Wear face-shield and protective suit.

7. Respiratory protection: Use a respirator with an approved filter if a risk assessment indicates this is necessary.

Stability and reactivity

- Reactivity: no data available

- Chemical stability: Stable under normal conditions.

- Hazardous decomposition products: On combustion or on thermal decomposition (following the evaporation of water) releases: nitrogen oxides (NOx) and Carbon oxides (CO + CO2).

Disposal considerations

- The product should not be released into the environment.

- Dispose of in accordance with local regulations.

- Dispose of contents/container to an approved waste disposal plant.
