Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

A  log Kow value of 3.6 is measured using the slow-stirring method according to OECD 123 indicating a moderate bioaccumulation potential for 2,2'-(C16-18 (evennumbered) alkyl imino) diethanol (CAS no 1218787-30-4). All primary fatty amine ethoxylates are however readily biodegradable and are rapidly biotransformed by fish liver S9 fractions it is therefore unlikely that they will accumulate in the food chain.

110 L/kg ww

Additional information

With a log Kow of 3.6 the BCFBAF model predicts a BCF of 110 L/kg wwt (regression based).

The calculated BCF value of 110 indicates that 2,2'-(C16-18 (evennumbered) alkyl imino) diethanol has a low to moderate bioaccumulation potential. The low calculated BCF is considered to be realistic as primary fatty amine ethoxylates are readily biodegradable and were found to be rapidly biotransformed by fish liver S9 fractions.
