Description of key information

Bioaccumulation is not expected in the terrestrial compartment like soil given the assessment that the study substance is not bioaccumulative in the aquatic environment.   The study substance is expected to biodegrade to greater than 60% in aquatic and terrestrial compartments and is not expected to be persistent or hazardous.

Additional information

Study data for the study substance to assess terrestrial bioaccumulation are not available. However, based on the assessment that mono-, and di-(sec-hexadecyl)naphthalene is not expected to be bioaccumulative in the aquatic environment, it is probable that terrestrial bioaccumulation is also unlikely. Overall, the potential to bioaccumulate is expected to be low in the aquatic and terrestrial compartments.
