Description of key information

Two studies of toxicity of benoxacor on birds are available. No mortality was observed during the testing period in either study. The highest dose tested was 2150 mg/kg bw for mallard duck (Anas platyrhynchos).

Additional information

The acute toxicity of the substance to birds was investigated in two guideline-conform and GLP-compliant studies. Tested animals received a single oral dose of the test substance by gavage and were observed over a period of 15 and 21 days, respectively. No mortality occurred during the two tests and the acute LC50 value was found to be greater than 2150 mg/kg, which was the highest applied dose in the test with mallard duck. The results above for two species of birds do not lead to classification.
