Benoxacor is contained in plant protection products applied to agricultural fields. The substance has a relatively low vapour pressure, therefore, emissions to air will be limited and the compound can be considered to remain largely in the soil compartment following application. Benoxacor does not absorb strongly to soil and may migrate to the water compartment. Provided there is microbial activity, the substance is rapidly degraded both in water/sediment systems and in the soil compartment, with a DT50 of 3 days and 1.2 days respectively. Additionally, the half-life of benoxacor for photodegradation in water is 1 hour. Therefore, benoxacor is expected to rapidly degrade under relevant environmental conditions.
