Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

- Inhalation:

Remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is found to be difficult, give oxygen. Get immediate medical attention.

- Skin contact: Wash with soap and water. Get medical attention if irritation develops or persists.

- Eye contact: First rinse with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes (remove contact lenses if possible), then take to a doctor.

- Ingestion: If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Give victim a glass of water. Call a physician immediately. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

Fire-fighting measures

-  Flammable properties:  HMIS Flammability: 1, Flash point: 118.6 ℃ (101.3kPa)1)

- Suitable extinguishing media: Use powder, alcohol-resistant foam and carbon dioxide.

- NOT suitable extinguishing media: Not available

- Specific hazards with regard to fire-fighting measures: In case of the fire, this substance may liberate toxic gases. (CO etc.) Hazardous polymerization may occur if contaminated with heating, direct sunlight, iron, peroxides or acid.

- Specific methods of fire-fighting: Shut off fuel to fire and use extinguishing agents.

If the fire covers a wider area, apply water to cool and protect surrounding area. Fight fire from safe distance.

- Special equipment for the protection of firefighters: As in any fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus with full face peace

operated in positive pressure mode and full protective gear.

Accidental release measures

- Personal precautions: Evacuate personnel from the leek. Evacuate non-essential personnel. Shut off all sources of ignition; No flares, smoking, or flames in the area. Wear proper protective equipment.

- Environmental precautions: Do not flush to sewer or waterways.

Cover with a sheet to prevent the odor from spreading.

- Absorb spill with inert material (e.g., dry sand or soil), then place in a waste disposal container. Wash away with plenty of water, and process the drainage appropriately (incineration, activated sludge treatment).

Handling and storage

When stored in a tank, keep the liquid temperature below 40℃ and the gas phase concentration of oxygen from 7 to 21 vol%. (In the presence of oxygen under 7 vol%, polymerization may occur.)

Ensure the tank and apparatus are grounded. Do not store in direct sunlight. Keep in  well-ventilated areas. Keep away from heat and flame.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Wear appropriate protective equipment.

Stability and reactivity

Hazardous polymerization may occur if contaminated with heating, direct sunlight, iron, peroxides or acid.

Disposal considerations

Absorb spill with inert material (e.g., dry sand or soil), then place in a waste disposal container. Wash away with plenty of water, and process the drainage appropriately  (incineration, activated sludge treatment).
