Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove affected person from the immediate area. Ensure

supply of fresh air. In case of indisposition seek medical

advice.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Separate eyelids and rinse for 15 minutes with plenty of

water. If irritation occurs, seek medical advice.

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothes. Wash off immediately with soap

and water. If irritation occurrs, seek medical advice.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: If person is conscious: Rinse mouth thoroughly with water.

Seek medical advice immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Foam, carbon dioxide, extinguishing powder, water spray jet.

Product arising from burning: Carbon oxides (CO, CO2).

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective

clothing.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear protective clothing (dust mask, safety goggles and

impermeable gloves) and ensure adequate ventilation. Avoid

dust formation and keep away sources of ignition.

Pick up mechanically and place in suitable container for

disposal.

Dispose of waste material in authorized incineration

facility and do not discharge into drains/surface

water/groundwater.

Handling and storage

Handling: Observe the usual precautions for handling chemicals.

Avoid the formation and deposition of dust. Provide good

ventilation of working area and avoid the inhalation of

dust. If technical exhaust or ventilation measures are not

possible or not sufficient, respiratory protection such as a

filtering dust mask must be worn.

Avoid eye and intensive skin contact and wear safety goggles

and impermeable gloves.

Do not eat, drink or smoke in the working area.

Wash thoroughly after handling.

Storage: The substance should be stored in tightly closed containers

in dry, cool and well ventilated places.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 200 kg drums

1000 l tanks

Exposure controls / personal protection

Appropriate engineering

controls

: No special ventilation requirements.  Good general ventilation should be sufficient to

control worker exposure to airborne contaminants.  If this product contains

ingredients with exposure limits, use process enclosures, local exhaust ventilation or

other engineering controls to keep worker exposure below any recommended or

statutory limits.

Individual protection measures

Hygiene measures: Wash hands, forearms and face thoroughly after handling chemical products, before

eating, smoking and using the lavatory and at the end of the working period.

Appropriate techniques should be used to remove potentially contaminated clothing.

Wash contaminated clothing before reusing.  Ensure that eyewash stations and

safety showers are close to the workstation location.

Eye/face protection: Safety eyewear complying with an approved standard should be used when a risk

assessment indicates this is necessary to avoid exposure to liquid splashes, mists or

dusts.

Skin protection

Hand protection: Chemical-resistant, impervious gloves complying with an approved standard should

be worn at all times when handling chemical products if a risk assessment indicates

this is necessary.

Body protection: Personal protective equipment for the body should be selected based on the task

being performed and the risks involved and should be approved by a specialist

before handling this product.

Other skin protection: Appropriate footwear and any additional skin protection measures should be selected

based on the task being performed and the risks involved and should be approved by

a specialist before handling this product.

Respiratory protection: Use a properly fitted, air-purifying or air-fed respirator complying with an approved

standard if a risk assessment indicates this is necessary.  Respirator selection must

be based on known or anticipated exposure levels, the hazards of the product and

the safe working limits of the selected respirator.

Environmental exposure

controls

: Emissions from ventilation or work process equipment should be checked to ensure

they comply with the requirements of environmental protection legislation.  In some

cases, fume scrubbers, filters or engineering modifications to the process equipment

will be necessary to reduce emissions to acceptable levels.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: None known.

Chemical reaction with water: Soluble in water.

Dust explosion: Dust can form an explosive mixture with air. Take

precautionary measures against static charges. Keep away

from sources of heat and ignition.

Dust explosion determined by test: N
