Description of key information

One experiment was conducted for surface tension of Salicynalva using the OECD harmonised ring method according to OECD Guideline 115 and EU Method A.5 in compliance with GLP. The surface tension of a 90% saturated aqueous solution of Salicynalva was 59.5 mN/m at 16°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Surface tension:
59.5
in mN/m at 20°C and concentration in mg/L:
33

Additional information

According to EU method A.5 the substance is surface active because the value is just below 60 mN/m. This surface tension is not expected to have any impact on the risk assessment of the substance.
