First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove person to fresh air. If discomfort persists, get
medical attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush immediately with plenty of water. If irritation occurs
or persists, get medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash skin with plenty of water. Remove contaminated clothing
and shoes. Wash clothing and shoes before reuse. If
rritation persists, get medical attension.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: If swallowed seek medical attention immediately. Never give
anything by month to an unconscious person.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, dry chemical or carbon dioxide.

Product arising from burning: Will burn emitting toxic fumes of oxides of carbon, nitrogen
and sulfur, other sulfur containing compounds.

Protective equipment: Fire fighters should wear self-contained breathing and full
protective equipment.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: In the event of a large spillage wear an air suit, rubber
gloves and wellington boots and carefully collected up the
material, transfering it to a sealed container. Wipe up any
residual powder with a damp cloth and place in a container
for disposal.


In the event of a small spillage wear a laboratory coat, eye
protection, rubber gloves and if the spillage occurs
outside a fume cupboard, a dust respirator to P3 protection.
Collect the material carefully and transfer to a sealed
container. Wipe up any residual material with a damp cloth
and place in container for disposal.

Handling and storage

Handling: For small scale:

Protective measures - Rubber gloves, safety glasses and a
laboratory coat. Perform tasks so as to avoid the generation
of dust. Perform operations under local exhaust ventilation
(e.g. a fume cupboard) where dust generation cannot be
avoided. Avoid breathing dust and contact with skin, eyes
and clothing. Wash thoroughly after handling.



For large scale use:

In production areas handle in closed containers or under
suitable local exhaust ventilation. Avoid generation of
dust. Wear an air suit or PVC or tyrek suit and half air
suit or hood, rubber gloves and wellington boots (or safety
footwear and disposable over shoes as determined by other
operational requirements) when handling this material.

Storage: Store in a cool dry place in sealed containers.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: In double polythene bags (10-50kg) enclosed in foil pouch
fibreboard or polymeric drums. Dessicant is placed in the
drums external to the sealed bags.
