Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Give oxygen and seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush with gently running water for at least fifteen minutes

and seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with large quantities of water and seek medical

attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: If confined to the mouth give large quantities of water as

mouthwash, ensuring it is not swallowed, then give

approximately half a pint of water to drink.  Do not induce

vomiting and remove patient to hospital.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, CO2 or Foam.

Product arising from burning: Theoretical products of combustion would be CO2, NO2, H2O

and HF.  Other fluorinated by-products may also form.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Fire-fighters should wear self-contained breathing

apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: For accidental spillages, wear skin protection as detailed

in Section 2.3.1. with breathing apparatus (BS 5045-1-CM-S).

Remove all source of heat, flame or sparks.  Evacuate and

ventilate area and minimise dust.  Sweep the material

thoroughly into clean polyethylene liners and place in an

appropriately labelled drum.  Flood the area with large

quantities of water to drain.

Handling and storage

Handling: An air hood (UK COSSH) or dust mask (EN 149 standard),

polyester cotton overalls, boots (BS 2506), safety glasses

(BS 2092), and gloves 14" PVC gauntlets) should be worn when

handling this material.

Storage: For storage purposes, the substance is packed in double

lined clear polyethylene antistatic liners (1268mm x 761mm)

and stored in fibre board drums (100 1) with lever closing

ring at ambient temperatures, remote from source or heat,

flame or sparks.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Engineering controls should be used as the primary means to control exposures. Use process containment, local exhaust ventilation, or other engineering controls to maintain airborne levels below recommended exposure limits.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Hands: Wear impervious gloves as minimum protection.

Eyes: Wear safety glasses as minimum protection.

Skin: Wear impervious protective clothing when handling this compound.

Respiratory protection: If the applicable Occupational Exposure Limit (OEL) is exceeded, wear an appropriate respirator with a protection factor sufficient to control exposures to below the OEL.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: None known.

Chemical reaction with water: None.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: There is no possibility of the recovery/recycling of the

used substance.  Contaminated and non-contaminated spilled

material should be disposed of by incineration.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: It is not possible to neutralize the effect of CP-70, 335.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incineration is the preferred method of disposal.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: CP-70,335 is a chemical intermediate in the manufacture of

an animal health drug and is not intended for public use.
