First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove victim to fresh air, symptomatic treatment. In all
cases contaminated clothing should be removed and
laundered.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Wash with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and seek
medical advice.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with plenty of water. If irritation persists or
develops seek medical advice.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Symptomatic treatment.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water mist, foam, carbon dioxide or dry agents eg. sand, dry
earth.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may include oxides of carbon and
nitrogen, hydrogen chloride and soot.

Protective equipment: A self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing
and gloves are recommended.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Read labels on the drum and take suitable precautions. Wear
suitable protective clothing and gloves to avoid skin
exposure.

Dampen down powder spillages and sweep or vacuum up for
transfer to waste containers. For solutions contain and
absorb using a suitable dry agent (eg sand, earth, etc.),
sweep up and transfer to waste containers. Dispose of waste
at an authorised landfill site or incinerator.

Handling and storage

Handling: The substance should be stored, handled and used according
to the principles of good occupational hygiene. Avoid
exposure, in particular by skin contact, swallowing or
inhalation of dust. If exposure cannot be eliminated by
engineering controls (eg local exhaust ventilation),
suitable protective clothing and gloves (eg butyl rubber
gloves) and nationally approved respiratory equipment (power
assisted, particle filtering helmet, BS DD97 or BS DD98)
should be used.

Hand Protection
Protective gloves resistant to chemicals made of nitrile, minimum coat thickness 0.4mm, permeation resistance (wear duration) approx. 480 minutes.
This recommendation refers exclusively to the chemical compatibility and the test conforming to EN 374 carried out under laboratory conditions.
Therefore it is necessary to adhere additionally to the recommendations given by the manufacturer of protective gloves.

produces a substance as hazardous as the hydrochloride.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: The substance may be disposed of at an authorised site in
accordance with local regulations.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance can be disposed of at an approved facility.
Waste gas treatment to remove nitrogen and hydrogen chloride
