Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING

The study is waived in accordance with REACH Annex XI, Section 1: testing does not appear scientifically necessary based on use of other existing data and considering evidence from long-term industrial handling.

If the heat developed either by a reaction of the substance with oxygen or by exothermic decomposition is not lost rapidly enough to the surroundings, self-heating leading to self-ignition occurs. Self-ignition therefore occurs when the rate of heat-production exceeds the rate of heat loss.

Testing does not appear scientifically necessary for this substance, based on evidence from long-term industrial handling of the substance which has demonstrated that the substance does not generate heat by reaction with oxygen or by exothermic decomposition which is not lost rapidly enough to the surroundings. No self-ignition properties have been observed throughout long-term industrial handling of the substance.
