Description of key information

The reaction time observed during the preliminary screening test shows that the sample is not an oxidising solid.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
non oxidising

Additional information

The sample has been tested according to EU Method A17 (solids) and the GLP.

The test sample / cellulose discoloured at point of contact with the flame and produced a small flame which lasted for 1 second. There was no spreading of the flame or any discolouration. Sample did not ignite nor was there any reaction during the test.

The reaction time observed during the preliminary screening test shows that the sample is not an oxidising solid. Conduct of the full train test was therefore not required.

This test is classified as acceptable, and satisfies the guideline requirements of the EU method A17.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Sample did not ignite nor was there any reaction during the test
