Description of key information

Three structure related tar oil fractions were tested. Creosote oils, acenaphthene fraction had the lowest EC50/LC50 (2.7 mg/l). This is also the lowest effect level over all trophic levels an will thus be decisive for classification

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Three structure-related tar oils were tested according to OECD guideline 202. Together, These fractions contain the entire range of 2 -5 ring PAH compounds and are therefore considered representative for the aquatic toxicity of distillates (coal tar), upper.
